15 Days of Pizzaman - Episode 3

Pizzaman - Episode 3

The house at the beginning and the end of this episode is in Rumney and belongs to James' brother, Peter Robson. He lives with close friend Chris Aberg who were very accommodating during the shoot. They also both took cameo roles in later episodes.

The house that Becky is in, played by Ruth Giblet, is in fact owned by the actress, Jane Harding, who plays Ruth Williams the Welsh Assembly minister in Pizzaman. It's in the Roath area of Cardiff. Jane was instrumental in providing a flexible location for us to use and we ended up filming in her home on no less than ten different occasions. Not because there were ten scenes at that location but to be able to film everything needed around people’s schedules.

The idea for the scene that tops and tails the episode became organic in its inception. Firstly, Teilo and James thought that in order to highlight Taj’s character in the first few episodes, there should be someone to embarrass or belittle him, maybe at a party or in front of others. Taj’s lack of reaction brings attention to his weak nature. With this as a benchmark there was a foundation for Taj’s character development. It was only in the writing stage that James thought it would be nice to make ‘Nasty Nad’ an ex-boyfriend of Taj’s sister.

It provided a reason for Nad to be so nasty and for Taj to be drawn into the situation. The layering of the music on top makes for a pretty dramatic moment taking us into episode four.

Tell the world!
